  • Total Time: 30
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • 14 oz Smoked sausage (jalapeno cheddar recommended), cut into small slices
  • 12 oz Pasta (Rotini recommended)
  • 2 cups Heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

1. Begin by cooking the pasta according to package directions in generously salted water. Cook until al dente, then drain and set aside, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.

2. While the pasta cooks, slice your smoked sausage into bite-sized pieces. Heat a medium skillet over medium heat and add the sausage slices. Sauté for 5-8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sausage is golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.

3. Pour the heavy cream into the skillet with the browned sausage. Sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning and stir to combine everything thoroughly. Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for about 4 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

4. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until it melts completely into the sauce, creating a smooth, creamy consistency.

5. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is thoroughly coated with the Cajun cream sauce. If needed, add a splash of reserved pasta water to achieve your desired sauce consistency.
