Ingredients
— The Wraps —
4 large flour tortillas (burrito size) or spinach wraps
2 cups coleslaw mix (shredded cabbage and carrots)
1 cup Romaine lettuce, chopped
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
1/4 cup crunchy chow mein noodles
2 green onions, sliced
— The Chicken —
1 lb crispy chicken strips (frozen breaded tenders, popcorn chicken, or homemade air-fried)
1/2 cup Orange Sauce (store-bought Panda Express style or homemade)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
1. **Cook Chicken:** Prepare the crispy chicken strips according to package directions. (Tip: Use an air fryer at 400°F for 10–12 minutes for maximum crunch without the oil).
2. **Sauce It:** While the chicken is still hot and crispy, place it in a medium bowl. Pour the orange sauce over the chicken and toss until every piece is evenly coated and sticky.
3. **Prep Tortillas:** Warm the tortillas in the microwave for 10–15 seconds to make them pliable and easy to roll.
4. **Assemble Base:** Lay the tortillas flat. In the center of each, place a handful of chopped Romaine lettuce and a generous scoop of the coleslaw mix.
5. **Add Crunch:** Sprinkle the toasted almonds, chow mein noodles, and sliced green onions over the veggies.
6. **Add Chicken:** Top with the hot orange chicken strips and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
7. **Roll:** Fold the sides of the tortilla in toward the center, then tightly roll it up from the bottom like a burrito. Slice in half on a diagonal and serve immediately.
Notes
Healthy Swap: To reduce calories, use grilled chicken breast strips instead of breaded, and use a whole wheat or low-carb tortilla.
Sauce Shortcut: Store-bought Orange Chicken sauce (like Panda Express brand or Iron Chef) works perfectly for a quick lunch. If you can’t find it, a mix of orange marmalade, soy sauce, and a splash of BBQ sauce is a great hack.
Meal Prep: You can assemble the veggie portion in the wraps ahead of time, but keep the sauce and chicken separate until you are ready to eat to prevent the tortilla from getting soggy.
Extra Heat: If you like it spicy, drizzle a little Sriracha or chili crisp inside the wrap before rolling.
