There’s something magical about a perfectly blended frozen cocktail on a hot day. The Frozen Strawberry Margarita is a classic for a reason—it’s refreshing, slushy, crowd-pleasing, and delivers a vibrant, tangy-sweet flavor in every sip. Forget watery, bland imitations; this recipe guarantees a rich, restaurant-quality texture and a balanced punch of citrus and tequila.

  • Total Time: 5
  • Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients

2 oz Blanco Tequila (100% agave)

1 oz Triple Sec (or Cointreau)

1 oz Fresh lime juice

1 cup (approx. 5-6 oz) Frozen whole strawberries

½ oz Simple syrup (or agave nectar), adjust to taste

Coarse kosher salt and lime zest (for rimming)

Instructions

1. Prep the Glass: Run a lime wedge around the rim of your chilled glass. Dip into a mixture of coarse salt and a pinch of lime zest. Set aside.

2. Blend: Add the tequila, Triple Sec, fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and frozen strawberries directly to a high-powered blender.

3. Process: Blend on high for 30-45 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth, thick, and has a light, fluffy texture.

4. Adjust: Taste the mixture. If too tart, add a splash more syrup; if too thick, add a teaspoon of water or lime juice and pulse briefly.

5. Serve: Pour immediately into the prepared glass. Garnish with a lime wheel or fresh strawberry and serve with a straw.

Notes

Pro-Tips:

• Use high-quality 100% agave blanco tequila for the cleanest, crispest flavor.

• Use frozen strawberries instead of adding ice to prevent the cocktail from becoming watery.

• Blend for at least 30-45 seconds to aerate the mixture, creating that signature light, slushy texture.

Variations:

• Spicy: Add a 1/2-inch slice of jalapeño to the blender.

• Tropical: Blend in 1/4 cup of frozen pineapple chunks.

• Non-Alcoholic: Omit tequila and Triple Sec, use 1 oz orange juice, and increase strawberries or add puree.
