There’s something truly magical about a snack that’s both refreshingly light and satisfyingly crunchy. This Fruit Salsa and Crispy Cinnamon Chips duo is a delightful combination that works beautifully for a sunny afternoon treat, a last-minute party appetizer, or a sweet end to a meal. It comes together in under 30 minutes with minimal effort.

  • Total Time: 25
  • Yield: 6-8 servings

Ingredients

For the Fruit Salsa:

1 cup Ripe mango, diced

1 cup Strawberries, hulled and diced

1 medium Kiwi, peeled and diced

½ cup Pineapple, fresh or canned, drained and diced

¼ cup Red bell pepper, finely diced

2 tablespoons Fresh mint leaves, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons Fresh lime juice

1-2 tablespoons Honey or agave syrup

A pinch of Fine sea salt

For the Cinnamon Chips:

6-8 Small flour tortillas (approx. 6-inch)

¼ cup Unsalted butter, melted

¼ cup Granulated sugar

2 tablespoons Ground cinnamon

Instructions

1. Prepare the Fruit Salsa: In a medium bowl, gently combine the diced mango, strawberries, kiwi, pineapple, and red bell pepper. Add the sliced mint, lime juice, honey, and a tiny pinch of salt. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes for the flavors to meld.

2. Make the Cinnamon Sugar: In a shallow dish, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon thoroughly.

3. Prepare the Tortillas: Cut each tortilla into 6-8 wedges.

4. Coat the Chips: Brush both sides of each tortilla wedge with melted butter and dip into the cinnamon sugar mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

5. Cook the Chips (Stovetop Method): Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Fry the wedges in batches for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels.

6. Cook the Chips (Oven Method): Alternatively, bake at 375°F (190°C) on a parchment-lined sheet for 8-12 minutes, flipping halfway.

7. Serve: Spoon the fruit salsa into a bowl and serve alongside the warm cinnamon chips.

Notes

Pro-Tips:

• Dice fruit uniformly into ¼-inch pieces for the best texture.

• Do not skip the lime juice and salt; they enhance the natural sweetness of the fruit.

• If fruit is not perfectly ripe, add extra honey to the salsa.

• Store cinnamon chips in an airtight container; if they soften, briefly re-crisp in a skillet.

Variations:

• Swap mango for peaches, blueberries, or diced apple.

• For an autumnal twist, use pumpkin pie spice instead of cinnamon.

• Use coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free chip.
