Mango salsa is a vibrant, colorful, and refreshing condiment that brings the taste of the tropics to your plate. This delightful combination of sweet, tangy, and spicy flavors offers a perfect balance that complements a wide variety of dishes—from grilled seafood to tacos and chips. It is incredibly easy to make at home with fresh ingredients, requiring minimal preparation time for a maximum flavor payoff.

  • Total Time: 45
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

2 large Ripe mangoes, peeled, pitted, and diced

½ small Red onion, finely diced

2 Roma tomatoes, seeded and finely diced

1 small Bell pepper, finely diced

1 Jalapeño pepper, seeded, deveined, and minced

¼ cup Fresh cilantro, chopped

2 tbsp Fresh lime juice

2 cloves Garlic, minced

½ tsp Sea salt (plus more to taste)

¼ tsp Black pepper

1 tsp Honey (optional)

Instructions

1. Prep: Carefully dice mangoes into ½-inch pieces. Finely dice onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, and jalapeño.

2. Combine: In a medium bowl, combine mango, onion, tomatoes, bell pepper, jalapeño, and garlic.

3. Dress: Drizzle with lime juice and honey (if using). Season with salt and black pepper.

4. Mix: Gently fold in chopped cilantro. Do not over-mix to preserve the fruit texture.

5. Rest & Serve: Chill for at least 30 minutes to let flavors meld. Serve cold with chips or as a topping for fish, chicken, or tacos.

Notes

Pro-Tips:

• Dice all ingredients to a uniform, small size so every spoonful provides a balanced mix of flavors.

• Let the red onion soak in the lime juice for 5-10 minutes before adding the mango to mellow the pungent bite.

• For an extra layer of depth, char your jalapeño over an open flame before mincing.

Variations:

• Creamy: Fold in one ripe, diced avocado right before serving.

• Tropical Twist: Add ½ cup of diced fresh pineapple or papaya.

• Spicy: Use a serrano pepper instead of jalapeño or add a dash of hot sauce.
